Day by day itinerary

Day 1: Antananarivo – Morondava: 1 hr flight Transfer to the airport and flight to Morondava. Arrival at Morondava, transfer to your hotel. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Day 2: Morondava – Kirindy – Morondava: about 65 km, about 2 hr track Transfer to Kirindy forest through the Alley of Baobab, visit of dry deciduous forest home to rodents, bats, tenrecs, lemurs and fosa, the largest carnivore of Madagascar. You can also see many rare birds. Return to Morondava. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Day 3: Morondava – Bekopaka: 220 km, about 8 to 9 hrs track Long day drive to Bekopaka with ferry crossing on the way. Arrival in Bekopaka, dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Day 4: Bekopaka: Petit Tsingy Departure by canoe for a trip on the river to see the gorges of Manambolo River. In the afternoon, exploration of the maze of petit Tsingy, a pinnacle rock formation that stand out against surrounding savannah, home to lemurs and Sifaka fulvus Rufus. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Day 5: Bekopaka: Grand Tsingy Full day at the Grand Tsingy. Classified “World Heritage ” by UNESCO, the Tsingy of Bemaraha are definitely one of the most attractive protected areas of Madagascar. The massive limestone karst is similar to that of Ankarana. Erosion has carved deep vertiginous gorges, creating a series of fantastic labyrinths, gorges and underground caves. This mineral paradise offers a surprising diversity of fauna and flora. More than 85% of plants are endemic to Madagascar. Traditionally Tsingy are served as a refuge and burial for the inhabitants of the region. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Day 6: Bekopaka – Morondava: 220km, 8 to 9 hrs track Drive back to Morondava with ferry crossing. Stop at Baobab Alley to appreciate an unique sunset. Transfer to your hotel. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Day 7: Morondava – Antananarivo: 1 hr flight Transfer to the airport and flight back to the capital. Arrival in Antananarivo, transfer to your hotel.

Note

Tour is feasible only during dry season from late May to Mid-November.  Fosa mating season is in early November. Difficult track accessible only by 4WD vehicle
We strongly recommend Mad Zébu restaurant at Belo Sur Tsiribihina for its excellent food.
On Day 5: Grand Tsingy at Bemaraha National Park requires good physical condition.
Not recommended for claustrophobic
Health prevention: to come to Madagascar prophylaxis is not mandatory, but many doctors recommend a malaria prophylaxis.
Do not forget: headlamp, sunscreen, mosquito, hiking shoes, hats, and sunglasses.
