Day by day itinerary
Day 1: Abroad – Antananarivo: Arrival at the Ivato International airport. Meet your guide and transfer to your hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.
Day 2: Antananarivo – Andasibe: 142 km, 3 hr drive, asphalt road Departure to the Eastern coast of Madagascar. Stop in Marovezo, visit to the small reserve of “EXOTIC MADAGASCAR ” or “Peyrieras ” to see chameleons, crocodiles, snakes, butterflies, and bats. Continuation to Andasibe. Canoeing and walking in the private reserve of Vakona to see many species of lemurs. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 3: Andasibe: Breakfast and visit of the Analamazaotra Park. In search of the largest lemur of Madagascar and the world called: Indri -Indri that emits scream audible kilometers away. The park is home to other species of diurnal and nocturnal lemurs; many species of birds and reptiles. You will also see endemic flora such as the “traveler’s tree” or Ravinala and more than 100 species of orchids inside the tropical and lush rainforest. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 4: Andasibe – Manambato – Akanin’ny nofy: We leave Andasibe to reach Manambato, along the National Road near the humid tropical forest, and multitude fruits tree, crossing typical village of Betsimisaraka. Arrival at Manambato, boat transfer to Ankanin’ny Nofy by the speedboad through lakes Rasoabe and Ampitambe, in the Pangalanes Channel. Nocturnal visit to see the elusive Aye Aye. Dinner and overnight at your hotel. NB: Return of the vehicle and the driver back to Antananarivo. The Tour guide will accompany you to Tamatave.
Day 5: Akanin’ny nofy – Tamatave: Visit at the private reserve of Palmarium in the morning. Ten species of lemurs evolving freely in the reserve, Indri, Sifaka, Coronatus, Varécia, variegata, Propitheca, etc … A rare and endemic terrestrial and arboreal fauna as well as a magnificent flora (orchids, carnivorous plants , Ebenes, mahoganies, trees of the traveler) … the most beautiful palms specific to Madagascar, including the rarest varieties (Dypsis, Ravenea, Orania, but also Voanioala and Lemurophoenix). Transfer by boat along the Pangalane Channel to join Tamatave. The quiet waters are covered by aquatic plants called “Pandanus” or elephant ears. We discover daily life of local fishermen who lives through and by the Channel. Arrival at Tamatave port, transfer to your hotel. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 6: Tamatave – Sainte Marie: 30 min flight Depending on your schedule flight, transfer to the airport to take the flight to Sainte Marie island. Upon your arrival, transfer by your hotel. Relaxing day by the sea. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 7 and Day 8: Sainte Marie: Days at leisure in Sainte Marie. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 9: Sainte Marie – Antananarivo: 1 hr flight Transfer to the airport and fly to Antananarivo. Arrival in the capital, city tour of Antananarivo, whose original name was Analamanga (Blue Forest) and is also commonly called “The city of the Thousand “, name given after the conquest and defense of a thousand warriors. Founded in the early seventeenth century, inhabited by Ethnic Merina, which in Malagasy means “ those who live in the highland” and arranged on 12 sacred hills, at a height of 1,200 meters. Antananarivo has about 1.6 million inhabitants, scattered among countless typical and among them very different neighborhoods, crossed by numerous streets and alleyways littered with small local markets. The visit of this capital, will take us to admire the Palace of the Queen “Rova “, now under restoration, the great Independence Boulevard “the esplanade of Analakely ” with its typical of the railway station, some great local markets not least the pretty market of Anosy flowers, without forgetting the typical Digue market, which exhibits a wide variety of handicrafts from all parts of the Island. Day 10: Antananarivo – Abroad: Transfer to the airport.
